The easiest way of teaching yourself advanced mathematics is not by reading textbooks, but by watching lectures. The material is so much easier to digest when a person explains it. The lectures from MIT are great. Each course has about 30 lectures of 40-50 minutes each.
Can you learn advanced math as an adult?
Yes, age can of course be a barrier to learning mathematics. It is not always so, but it very often is. Age is often a barrier to learning things. This does not mean that it’s a waste of time to start learning mathematics as an adult — it can be an immense source of enjoyment and definitely a worthwhile endeavour.
