Are exams a good way to judge people?

Examinations do not show if someone has truly acquired certain knowledge. The microscopic and responsive nature of examining does not reflect how we use intelligence and knowledge in the real world. Exams test memory more than analysis, creativity, or real understanding.

Why should we take exams?

As exams develop them as an individual, give values, extraordinary thinking, self assessment, overcome failures, filling them with positivity to improve the quality of education. Exams help every teacher to understand the mental capacity of the students and to rectify their shortcomings.

Why there shouldn’t be a final exam?

More importantly, these tests have taken up much of the students time, and adding more stressful weeks by conducting final exams is just a waste of time, money, and energy. Some teachers testify that materials for the final exams are pretty much the same with the previously-conducted tests, making it rather useless.

That means that regardless of the fact that it isn’t right or just that you may be judged unfairly as a person, because of results of your exams, you should apply yourself to the best of your ability to do well on them, because you WILL be so judged. We have grown up in a mad race for numbers, and results.

No , I don’t think so . Exams can’t judge a person intelligence , his knowledge. Its just tests your memory power on how fast can you memorize things and how much of your time you are willing to put into it . Especially with CBSE, the education system is very bad .

Many people argue that the uniformity of exams provide an objective and sure way of testing students. I would counter, however, that the uniformity of exams are not necessarily a positive thing. The uniformity required by exams standardise the interests, capabilities and knowledge absorbed by students and children.
