Waterloo is a smaller city, only about 200,000 people. I have lived there for a year and there is a strong Chinese and middle eastern minority living in the city, but the city has a mainly German background. There is a wide variety of food available.

Waterloo gets the rep of the nerdy kids, while Laurier is the party school. The symbiosis of the two schools is actually what makes the Waterloo region so damn successful, and you are going to be right on the cusp of that.

However Waterloo students aren’t party animals. It’s usually people from Laurier. I’m a girl in Math faculty and all my opinions above can be biased.
