Are Anki defaults good?
Just to be clear, Anki’s default settings do work. However, in my experience, I found the default learning steps (more on this later) gives a really poor review experience for both newer and older cards. They’re made-for-you settings that I found the most optimal in my learning process.
What is timebox time limit Anki?
Timeboxes. I have set up Anki with a timebox limit of 10 minutes, which means that I can start a review session and don’t have to worry that a single uninterrupted session will take longer than 10 minutes.
What is Max Interval Anki?
The maximum interval is the greatest gap between cards that you allow the Anki algorithm to have. By default, it is set to 100 years (36500 days).
Should I Change my Anki settings?
Changing your settings this way won’t really make or break your overall retention for conceptual learning. It just enhances the review experience. Which means if you’re constantly forgetting the majority of what you’ve studied even though you’ve already made Anki cards for them, mere settings NOT going to treat that problem.
What are the best Anki settings for learning a language?
These may not be optimal settings for learning other things such as a new language or for how you learn individually. There are no “perfect” settings. You should read this post to get a good understanding of what the Anki settings and algorithms mean and “good” settings to start off with. Then, play around with them to match your learning style.
Is Anki a good way to memorize?
One caveat, though, is when you’re not using Anki as a tool for learning concepts, but rather just to memorize facts. I can’t speak for that — perhaps the most efficient intervals do exist for it.
What are the different phases of Anki cards?
If you want to just skip to the images of my settings click here. Learning Anki cards can be separated into two phases. “Learning” and “Graduated.” When you first unsuspend or add a card it is a new card in the “Learning” phase.
