Can you do basic training with friends?
The United States Army offers a Military Buddy Program. It is officially regarded as the Buddy Team Enlistment Option. The U.S. Army allows new recruits to recruit their friends to the military branch. Thus, you and your friends not only enlist at the same time but go through Basic Combat Training (BCT) together.
Can you be in the same platoon as your friend?
The buddy program is designed so that people who enlist in the Marine Corps together from the same area can get sent to recruit training at the same time and be in the same platoon.
Can spouses go to basic training together?
Spouses are not allowed to live with their soldiers during basic training. While family members are free to move to the same area, they will not be allowed to see the soldier any more often than if they lived far away. Visitation during basic training is only allowed for family day and graduation.

The Marine Corps has the longest basic training — 12 weeks, not including four days of in-processing time.
