Well you can’t just drop out. It is a bit more entailed and complicated than that. In the end getting out is very possible and will result in a Administrative Separation.
If you fail your “A” school you will be sent to the fleet at the needs of the fleet as an IBM Technician. (Instant Boatswains Mate where you will perform high yech activities on board ship in the Deck Department IE: many forms of 3M (Materials, Management and Maintenance).
Navy A School does not have as many restrictions as boot camp, but does not have as many freedoms as a sailor will once they complete training. As sailors gradually move through A School and complete different phases, their restrictions are slowly lifted and liberties are increased.
How many weeks is a school in the Navy?
