All in the Family If you have an immediate family member who has joined or one who’s eligible to join, you can become a Navy Federal member. Immediate family members include grandparents, parents, spouses, siblings, grandchildren, children (including adopted and stepchildren) and household members.
The Navy Buddy Enlistment Program provides for the enlistment of small groups of not more than four male individuals or four female individuals who wish to remain together for as long as possible during their enlistment. Individuals within a buddy group must all be assigned to the same category.
Can friends join the military together?
The Buddy Team Enlistment Option, also known as the Buddy Program allows a recruit and up to five friends to enlist and train in the Army together. Current incentive guidance will determine enlistment bonus eligibility. All applicants must meet the qualifications for their chosen MOS.
How long are you away when you join the Navy?
A typical sea deployment on a Navy ship can last anywhere from six to nine months. Ships typically deploy once every 18-24 months. In preparation for deployment, Sailors should be prepared to go to sea for 10 to 14 days each month for training.
Can you go to boot camp with your friend?

Can I join the Marines with friends?
The buddy program is designed so that people who enlist in the Marine Corps together from the same area can get sent to recruit training at the same time and be in the same platoon. Going through the transformation into United States Marines together is the next step in their friendship.

What happens after Navy boot camp?
Upon successful completion of boot camp, Sailors go on to their chosen rate school and ultimately into the Fleet while having been instilled Navy’s highest standards of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
