Can you use a bullet without a gun?
As we see in the above video, accidentally firing a bullet outside of a gun is very unlikely, but not totally impossible. This propels a bullet to hundreds of miles per hour. Without a barrel to contain and focus the force of the explosion, a bullet travels much slower.
Can I transport ammo in my car?
There is no prohibition in the state codes against also carrying ammunition within the same motor vehicle or compartment in the vehicle, as long as the firearms are not loaded and ammunition is not attached in any manner to the firearm.
How long does Ammunition stay fresh?
Ammunition isn’t a perishable good – if stored correctly, it can last almost indefinitely. Whether it was stored correctly or not is another matter. Ammunition isn’t like the still-edible 5000-year-old honey found in Egyptian tombs; ready to eat and spread on toast.
Can I carry ammo on me?
Ammunition is prohibited in carry-on baggage, but may be transported in checked baggage. Firearm magazines and ammunition clips, whether loaded or empty, must be securely boxed or included within a hard-sided case containing an unloaded firearm.
Should ammo be locked up?
Guns and ammunition should be stored separately. Store it unloaded in a locked container, such as a California-approved lock box or a gun safe.
Do bullets have expiration date?
Kept in a climate controlled, secure location, away from unauthorized personnel, these containers will preserve the ammunition indefinitely. The reason there is no expiration date on a box of currently manufactured ammunition is because, when stored properly, it is projected to have an unlimited life span.
Can a bullet fire itself?
If by ignite, you mean discharge, then yes you can. Striking the primer hard enough will set off the powder charge. It will basically blow up though and will not shoot the bullet out of the casing as if it were inside a gun.
