It’s just easier for the brain and the speech muscles. That’s my explanation, as to why people say ‘every’ with two syllables. There is the linguistic explanation. It’s called ‘syncope’, or ‘syllable dropping’. In words that people say often, the syllable after a stressed syllable is often unstressed.
