How tough is IMO?
International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is unarguably the toughest pre-college test in mathematics. Held once a year, more than 100 teams (or countries) participate in IMO with each team comprising of up to six students.

Can I give ipho after 12th?
The examination is intended for students in 9th,10th and primarily, the 11th and 12th standard. Students who have passed Class 12 are not eligible to enrol for NSEP. Besides, they must satisfy the age criteria for IPhO (Less than 20 years of age on June 30th of the year of the respective IPhO).
Can 12th pass apply for IMO?
A. No. The SOF Olympiad exams are only for school students. Only those students enrolled in Class 1 to 12 can enter the Olympiad.

What is the working language of the IPhO?
The working language of the IPhO is English. The competition problems should be presented to the International Board in English. The solutions to the problems should be presented in English. It is the responsibility of the delegation leaders to translate the problems into languages required by their students.
What are the requirements to participate in IPhO?
Countries wishing to attend the current IPhO must reply to the invitation before March 15, nominating a contact person. Each participating country must in addition supply the host country with the contestants’ personal data (surname, given name, sex, address, date of birth and address of school) by May 15 or as soon as possible.
Who is the governing body of the IPhO?
The governing body of the IPhO is the International Board, which consists of the delegation leaders from each country attending the IPhO. The chairman of the International Board shall be a representative of the organizing country when tasks, solutions and evaluation guidelines are discussed and the President of the IPhO in all other topics.
How should the Secretariat of the IPhO be invited to the Olympics?
The members of the Secretariat of the IPhO should be invited to the Olympiads as the members and heads of the International Board; their relevant expenses should be paid by the organizers of the competition. The members of the Secretariat should not be leaders of any national team.
