HyperX Cloud II A sturdy no BS design, comfortable fit, more than decent audio quality, and a solid and detachable mic. The Cloud II also boasts virtual 7.1 surround sound (only on PC though) but the headset sounds great with or without 7.1.

The Cloud is more bang for the buck, the Sennheiser blows it out of the water but costs double the price. Depends on what you prioritize more. Should I get the HyperX cloud 1 or Cloud 2?
One is better for reasons but the other is still good. I have the HyperX Cloud 1 and an open Sennheiser at home. The sound is very good in both headsets. (no amp) but the HyperX Cloud mic isn’t nearly as good as the Sennheiser’s one. I would still go for the Cloud 1 considering the price. Cloud 2 is pointless imo.
Is the Sennheiser M50s as good as the Cloud 2?
It is not even close. Sennheiser game zero are fantastic. The cloud 2 is a joke compared to it. But the point of getting 598s is for soundstage which in this case, the m50s lack due to a closed back design. I recommend good headphones and a mic.
