Ofcourse SL ARORA is a very nice book if you want to understand the basic concepts , but I will tell you to go through NCERT books first as it covers all the basic concepts that are required to crack jee mains exam. Solve HC VERMA only if your basics are clear otherwise you might face difficulties.

If at all one wants to study SL Arora along with school it will take atleast 3_4 hours a day and the material is completely low yield. I am saying this after going through atleast a dozen of past papers and solving 2 painful chapters with it. Yes you can solve and study it but only at the risk of compromising other important subjects.
