What happened to the Seeing Stones?
Four of the stones are known to have been lost. The chief stone of the north, at Amon Sûl, and the stone from Annúminas were lost with Arvedui in the cold northern seas. The chief stone of the south, in Osgiliath, was lost in the Kin-strife.

What happened to osgiliath?
Osgiliath became vulnerable to attack and was widely believed to be haunted, as its population continued to shrink. Osgiliath was finally abandoned by the remaining civilian population after being overrun by Uruk-hai in T.A. 2475, although they were cleansed by Steward Boromir.

What did Pippin see in the Palantir?
Pippin says that he saw a tower with winged creatures flying around it, and then “he came.” Sauron forced him to confess that he is a hobbit, directed him to tell Saruman “that this dainty is not for him.
