Going back much further into history, Turin was the first capital city of Italy and home to the royal House of Savoy. There are so many palaces, or buildings which were originally built as palaces in Turin; for example, the hotel where I stayed, Hotel Genio. Some palaces are now museums, but they are all simply stunning.
