Psychologists generally can’t contact anyone else without your written consent. If you have specific concerns about confidentiality or what information a psychologist is legally required to disclose, discuss it with your psychologist. He or she will be happy to help you understand your rights.

All counselling is confidential subject to the constraints of English law and ethical practice. Your counsellor has a legal duty to report anything to do with terrorism or acts of terror. If you were to disclose matters involving a serious/life-threatening risk of harm to self or others, they might have to act on it.

You can talk to a school counselor. As long as you aren’t coming across as very suicidal, they will not tell your parents anything, especially if you ask them not to. They are required to keep your confidentiality, as long as they don’t feel you will harm yourself or others.

Schools usually have educational/school pyschologists on staff and they do not need your permission to talk to your child. Often times, it is to assess if the child is suffering at home, or needs protection from the parents, so no, they don’t need the parent present.
Can a minor consent to counseling without parental consent?
