Why do I ask myself who am I?
When we ask ourselves the question “who am I”, we are really asking what we want to do with our lives, where do we fit in and how do we matter. Different people at different times in their lives have been prompted to ask how they can find themselves.
How do you answer a question when you don’t know the answer?
- Repeat or paraphrase the question out loud.
- Ask clarifying questions.
- Admit you don’t know the full answer.
- Provide what information you do have.
- Promise you will find the answer and come back to the questioner.
- Ask the questioner how to best reach him, if you don’t know how.

Who am I question psychology?
Asking “Who am I?” implies a person can only be one, fixed thing – a belief which only causes more anxiety. A better question to ask instead of “Who am I?” is “How would I like to engage life?” Believing that one has complete self-knowledge and not knowing oneself at all are both states of limited growth.
How can I talk about myself?
Show your personality.
- Talk about the things you find most interesting about yourself. Maybe you love being a parent, driving motorcycles, or playing music.
- Approach a friend or loved one if you feel like you don’t know what these are. Ask them what they consider most interesting about you.
What is self knowledge in understanding the self?
